Thought I would update you on some goings on around here.  Starting very soon I will begin releasing all of my patterns as children’s versions as well, starting with a miniature version of the Hudson Pant.  It’s something I have planned on doing ever since I began drafting patterns to sell on True Bias, mostly because it’s the way I sew in real life.  I love making clothes for myself, but generally have some fabric leftover and use that to make clothing for my children.  Some of the patterns will be almost exact replicas like the Mini Hudson Pants, but others will be age appropriate versions of the adult one.  You can expect the Mini Hudsons to be released sometime within a weeks time and the Mini Sutton Blouse will be ready in spring.  Hope you are as excited as I am.  If you look around on instagram you can find some sneak peeks from my testers #minihudsonpants.

So, so happy to see this!!! A good portion of the kid patterns out there just don’t have that modern kid look. What size range will the patterns be?

    • Reply True Bias December 2, 2014 at 1:48 PM

2T to 10 for sure. thinking about maybe adding 12. not sure yet.

excellent! my most frequently sewn for is 10, and cute patterns are pretty few and far between… up to 12 would be extra awesome.

I <3 my Hudson pants, can't wait for the kid version! If there is a big gap/shape difference between kids size 10 and the women's smallest size I would be super duper appreciative of you adding size 12 girls!

Excellent idea! I will love making these for my son and daughter! Although to be fair they will probably get made for the boy and then handed down. Poor baby girl!

yeah thats how it usually works in my house too.

This is really convenient since I basically want to be twins with your kids already. Will you be creeped out if I make myself matching outfits with them? 😉

    • Reply True Bias December 2, 2014 at 1:50 PM

haha! not at all. bring on the matching!

I am so excited about this! I always use my fabric scraps for Imogen’s clothes and I love that I could make these for Vinnie too. What sizes will the kids patterns be in?

  • Reply Rachel December 2, 2014 at 4:59 PM

Yay! I’ve been wanting a pattern to make pants for my daughter.

  • Reply Katie December 2, 2014 at 5:09 PM

No kids yet, but these Mini Hudsons are too cute! Plus, I know I’ll be making my kids clothes (in like 2 years! ha!), and these look more modern/practical than a lot of what I see on the netz.. frilly dresses and the like.

I am at the age where friends are popping babies left right center, and I have made little baby blankets for them. These mini Hudson pants are the perfect next things to make for them when they become toddlers! 🙂

    Genius! and utterly adorable. 🙂

[…] another note, I’m hanging out for the release of the mini-Hudson pants by True Bias. A few weeks ago, this little peep suddenly decided that she couldn’t handle wearing tights […]
