I figured that it was time that I made something for my little guy – not just my daughter. So I sewed up this little playsuit for my little guy using Kwik Sew 3730 and an old men’s XL dress shirt (I can’t for the life of me find the pic of the shirt before I cut it all up -oops) that came from the giveaway pile in our apartment building’s basement. The thing that I loved about making this up is that it was essentially free. The fabric all came from the shirt and the buttons too. I did have to buy the snap tape for the inner legs but that is all. Overall the pattern is good. I will say that it’s a bit time consuming for such a little item that he will grow out of in a month or less, but its great for a special item. It’s one of the best patterns I’ve seen for baby boys in the big 4 patterns. I did have a little trouble with the enter seam/button placket which is why I added that band down the front. I think it looks intentional though so I’m not worrying about it.
Since there was a pattern used today there is no tutorial, but I just wanted to share.

Oh my gosh, this is so smart! Imagine how cute it would look with a little red bow tie… a bit far perhaps, but cute!
Adorable and so well made!
that’s adorable!
So cute, there’s not a lot of good sewing options for boys out there… Have you considered putting your own tag in things?
