Thank you everyone for all of your ideas and opinons for the dress I am making for my brother’s wedding.  I had so much fun reading all of your comments as they came in.  It was really hard to make a decision, but I finally decided to go with the wrap dress along with some major alterations.  I will be making the other dress for fun summer wear, but just a more casual version.

I have almost finished the top of the dress.  As you can see I have changed the sleeves to a very drapey, gathered sleeve instead of the straight, close fitting one.  I just thought it felt a little more bohemian, less business, and maybe a little more formal.  I also lined the bodice with a nude dancewear fabric which gives the bodice a little more structure and coverage.  The plan is to change the skirt into a high-low hemline to add some more trend the ensemble.  I was hoping to put a large 4 inch ruffle at the hem as well, but I ran out of fabric.  Perhaps a good thing in the end.  I don’t want to look like a salsa dancer 🙂

I should finish the dress up in the next couple of days.  Hope to let you guys see it on and finished next week!  Crossing my fingers it all finishes up nicely.
